okie ill update.

Alice~

Walking out of her room she strided across the livingroom to the door. Holding a handful of carrots she opened the gate slowly and slipped in. Whistling she called Cobalt and her adopted horse Onyx holding out the carrots in the palm oh her hands.

Cobalt~

He thundered around the perimeter of the fence strecthing his legs. His ears flickered at the sound of Alice's voice at the gate. He lifted his head and rocketed over to his loving owner halting at her side.

Onyx, a young black horse, was walking the perimeter, somewhat away from Cobalt, when he heard two things. One was a whistle from his adopted owner, Alice. The other was the thundering of hooves as Cobalt dashed to her. After a moment, Onyx followed the other horse, trotting to stand near her though a little further from her than Cobalt stood. Yeah she was a nice girl, but Onyx missed his old owner and Alice just wasn't like the boy who had taken care of him. Thus he simply stood near Alice and Cobalt, awaiting what it was the girl had called them over for.

Alice~

She placed her hand on Cobalt's muzzle then handed him the carrot patting his shoulder. Then smiling as Onyx neared her she held out the carrot and slowly raised her hand making sure he was ok with it and softly stroked his head.

Cobalt~

Knickering he stomped his hoof and shook his head munching on the carrot. The sun warmed his coat and relaxed his muscles.

Onyx shyly moved his hind leg back when Alice approached with a carrot and her hand. But he had known her for a little while and allowed the girl to pet him as he nibbled the carrot she had offered him. Unknowingly, her moved his hind leg back to where it had been and shifted his front leg foreward slightly, enjoying the carrot and the attention she gave him.

Alice~

She had grown close to him still curious though about all of his talents. Softly lulling her hand back she watched as the last of the carrot was nibbled up. She looked back at Cobalt his carrot nearly gone she released it and waved a good bye.

Cobalt~

His carrot was now gone and he savored the flavor. Then dipped her and a snorted a soft good bye then pulled his head up and stepped back. He tossed his head over to the black stallion then reared up and raced off enjoying the light breeze.

(Is this ranch located near where the wild horses live so Apache can see the horses in the field.)

Apache Wind galloped over the land, lean well toned muscles stretching and flexing underneath his rich brown and white coat. Mane flying in the air, nostrils flaring as strong lungs drew in large breaths. Hooves creating the sound of pounding thunder throwing up clumps of dirt creating a cloud of dust behind him as he flew across the land, the stallion was a sight to behold. Ever since he was a young colt human had tried to capture and tame him, claiming the beautiful mustang for themselves. But he had outwitted them all and he continued to do so, for four years he played chicken with the odd creatures who thought they were so smart outsmarting them all.


With a whinny the stallion gave a powerful kick with his back legs, savoring his strength, power, and freedom. Sun gleaming of his fine coat Apache slowed to a trot as the sight of a white fence came into view, and slowly the forms of two horses entered his line of sight. Coming to the fence the stallion stopped then let out a loud teasing whinny moving his head up and down as he pawed the earth, welcoming the other horses to come to the fence. With another whinny the stallion's muscle teased as powerful hind legs launched him into a lightning fast run as he moved along the fence as an invitation for the others to race alongside him. To see other horses excited the paint, for too long he had roamed the land on his own. The sight of fellow equine cause his heart to swell and a sense of longing to enter his very soul. Oh how he wanted to have a herd to call his family, but being a stallion he was a threat to the leaders that watched over the herds in this land. There could only be won mature stallion in a wold mustang herd and Apache would have to fight and win that right if he wanted to fill the hole in his heart.

Cobalt~

His mane flapped in the wind and the sun played with his rich brown dusty eyes. He could make out the outline of another lose stallion. He heard the whinnying and dipped his neck enough so he could see the paint on the other side. He galloped to the fence and flared his nostrils high withers twitched and his tail flicked. Her whined with a high pitch snicker then he raced to the left alongside the strange and wild horse. He never met another before from the outside but he knew it was just a roaming wild horse.


(Yes they are about a mile in distance)

Tail held high streaming out like a flag the stallion acknowledged the other horse with a snorted as he galloped alongside him, although slightly disappointed that this horse was not a mare Apache did not let it get him down merely savoring the feel of another horse running alongside him. Even if there was a fence in between the two the sensation filled his heart with pure joy, again his gave a playful kick and buck shaking his head as he did so before resuming his flawless gallop.

Cobalt~

Watched as the stallion let his tail and mane flicker in the wind. He continued the steady pace stretching his legs further he came to a canter the fence becoming but a white blurry line. He was used of running at top speed dust clouds devouring the air behind him. His dark black brown mane flowed like a river and cooled his neck. His hooves digging into the soft dusty ground his head held high. Slight rain now drizzled him so he slowed to a trot and gave the horse a glance. He snickered and tossed his head in a shake saying farewell to his new friend.

Upon seeing the other horse slow Apache skidded to a stop, rearing on his hind legs the stallion spun around and galloped back toward the other horse. years of running in the wild had finely tuned the paint making him able to run for many miles without having to slow. His endurance was great and when one added the fact that he never had to carry a heavy human upon his back it became even greater when facing a sheltered and feed horse. Slowing to a trot Apache came alongside the other horse, his head bobbing up and down in pleasure. Straightening his stretched out his neck nostrils flaring as he drew in this other stallions scent, his body language was friendly and calm as he attempted to greet this stranger and befriend him farther.

Onyx watched Alice leave, not turning to watch Cobalt as the horse ran off. Once the girl was out of sight he turned to see a new horse, a wild one, outside the gate with Cobalt investigating this new horse. The black horse then shook his mane and trotted to the two horses, snorting a greeting. He slowed as he got close to the fence then stopped near Cobalt. His gentle eyes picked up on the other horse's body language and he himself relaxed.

As the other stallion approached Apache's ears perked forward as he curiously watched this new comer, soft nose twitching as he drew in the stallion's scent. Taking the initiative Apache cleared his throat and spoke, " Greetings, I'm Apache Wind...And you two are?"

Cobalt~

Flipping his mane he stepped carefully closer "I am Cobalt of Golden Meadows ranch!" His voice excited and curious. He was only a ranch horse raised by a girl.

Apache Wind bobbed his head up and down in greeting, "Well it is a pleasure to meet you Cobalt of the Golden Meadow Ranch." he said, amused by the last bit. he had never understood why horses would so willingly live at such a place as a ranch. Confined to only these sections of land or sent to sleep inside a large structure he learned long ago was called a barn. Only allowed to roam the open lands when their humans told them they could, the idea never appealed to the free spirited stallion, but to each his own.

Cobalt~

"Same with you!" Then spinning in a circle his hooves winked in the fresh mud. His coat now a dark deep brown from the rain. He was beginning to feel chill the sun dissapeared and the stable was at the opposite side of the three acre field.

Apache noted the other shiver, being a wild horse he was used to the chill and hardly even noticed it, " Cold?" he questioned, "Perhaps you should return to your warm barn, I do not want to see a fellow horse catch a cold because he spent time outside talking to me, perhaps one day you will leap this fence and join me on this side for a time before the day ends and I can show you my world. I will even do the same and you can show me why you ranch horses like that barn of yours so much."

Cobalt~

Nodding he gave another shake taking his words. "That would be nice, trade sides for a day!" Then dipping his head nudging onyx he let out a whinny and pounded across the sodden wet field. His hair sleek and flickering in the storm wind like lightning. He neared the stable and entered the door then slowly walking to his cell. He rested on the warm dry hay and drink some cold water regaining his energy.

Without anyone or anything to keep him there Apache left the fence, but not before nodding a farewell to the two horses. With that he spun around on his hind legs and took off, seeking shelter underneath a patch of aspens he knew grew near by. Upon finding them the stallion slowed to stop, the wind howled shaking the trees but they still provide shelter from the worst of the rain. Ears pinned back in an attempt to dampen the sound of booming thunder the stallion waited for the storm and night to pass. Slowly as the evening approached the hours of early morning the storm ceased and the wet mustang managed to snatch a few hours of sleep before daylight peaked through his eye lids.

Cobalt~

The russet sun dusted the air in the hazy warm barn. He lifted his neck and shook the dew from his mane and strecthed his legs. Her whipped his tail in a circle and walked to his food bucket. Nibbling the small crunchy oats then stopping off some hay from the trough. He nudged his stall door open and trotted to the entrance galloping to to the center of the field staring at the cloudy sky it was still windy yet warm.

Apache finally gave up on all prospects of sleep, the day was young and his curiosity about the two ranch horses nagged at him. So he set off toward the white fence once more, hooves throwing up clumps of mud and grass as he galloped. stopping the stallion rested his chest against the fence testing its sturdiness, upon finding it to be a sturdy structure the stallion placed his whole weight upon it as he leaned over the fence ears forward.Upon spotting the Stallion Cobalt Apache let out a friendly wicker in an attempt to catch his attention.
