“Cooper, Lynn,” McGonagall said.

A small young girl with dirty blonde hair slowly walked up to the stool that the Sorting Hat had been sitting upon when the First Years walked in. The Great Hall was decorated in its usual attire for the Welcome Feast. Candles were floating high in the air, the House crests hung from the ceiling, which really, they weren’t hanging from; the House ghosts sat down next to others in their represented Houses, and everyone was watching the ‘icckle little firsties’ get sorted. The Hat had already sung its song and a few new students had already been sorted.

Anyway, back to the little girl.

She cautiously sat on the stool and the Professor placed the Hat on her head. It fell over her eyes and almost covered her face but that was okay, it helped that she couldn’t see anyone during this moment. She jumped slightly as she began to hear a voice.

“Hmmm, very loyal and trustworthy. You would do well in Hufflepuff. But ahhhh, what’s this? A secret desire to learn all you can. Yes, if that’s it, outta be RAVENCLAW!” The Hat yelled out loud.

The girl, Lynn, sighed in relief at the House name. She slipped off the stool and made her way over to the cheering Ravenclaws. She looked around for her friend, Jessica. Finally spotting the dark brunette second year, she made her way over and sat down.

Over across the way, while the sorting was still going on, and Slytherin sixth year was flinging rubber bands, something from home, at a sixth year Hufflepuff. He quickly focused his attention back up to the Sorting when the bluenette, now ranging redhead, turned to glare at him. He completely ignored the sixteen year old until he felt a stinging on the back of his head. He rubbed his head through his onyx hair and turned back to glare at his sister only to see her making strange signals at a Gryffindor and a rubber band on the ground next to him with a note. He picked it up and had to let out his signature smirk.

Jamie-

Hush up, melon face, and go play in the snake pit.


The bluenette, known as Maddie, was making strange signals over to the direction of the Gryffindor table. There was the signal of a bird flying, followed by the movement of whacking a bug, and finally a butterfly. Everyone one not paying attention to the Sorting looked at her strangely but Lilac, her Gryffindor companion, seemed to completely understand because she replied with a curt nod.

Just as the last of the cheers went down for the last student, fireworks went off in the Great Hall. It was light up by many different colors and above Dumbledore’s podium read in sparklers:

Welcome to another amazing year at Hogwarts!

Everyone clapped and cheered for the support of their school and ever McGonagall seemed to smile {Snape was another story}.

Yeah, it was going to be a good year.

"I Do Believe In Nargles"




Maddie was sitting outside near the Black Lake, a small breeze making her hail blow in one direction and then the next. She glared out at air and surprisingly, the wind stopped. Smiling, she went back to reading only to have the wind kick back up again. She let out an exaggerated groan and slammed the book to her forehead. A small pain was created but she ignored it. The sun was sending luke warm rays down on her as she swerved in her spot and laid down to look at the sky. Clouds were gathering now that it was middle October. She couldn't believe that a month and a half had already passed of her sixth year.




The onyx teen skipped around the land need the Whomping Willow, close enough so that no one would come near him, but not close enough to get whacked with one of the branches, even if he did know how to freeze the tree. He held his hand above his eyes as he looked up at the sky, careful not to blind himself, he's done it before. The rays still somewhat got in his eyes so he looked down at the ground. Little yellow spots danced around a moment before they stopped. Shaking his head, James started making his way back to the castle. It was after classes friday and he had nothing to do {Minnie had told him that she would not hold back on him this weekend}. So he just, walked.

Lilac let out a deep breath as the classroom door swung open. She'd spent the last hour and a half in Potions class, buried away in the stifling dungeons; now, finally, it was Friday afternoon and she was free. Hustling forward, Lilac made sure she was the first out the door, and had to contain herself from practically sprinting down the hall. She loved her school and the classes that she attended, but this week had been particularly long, and Lilac was glad for the weekend. She needed an escape from her studies.

After dumping her books in the Gryffindor common room, Lilac pushed her way through the crowds of students in the hall and dashed out the front entrance to the castle. She didn't know where she was going, but Lilac had no intention of staying inside, not on such a beautiful day when so many opportunities were alive. Practically sprinting in her haste to get outside, Lilac didn't even notice the guy heading back to the castle [james]. She looked up at the last second, but was too late to swerve around him; yelping in alarm, Lilac collided with the guy, stumbling a few feet backwards and falling flat on her butt. Cursing, Lilac went red with embarrassment as she struggled to get to her feet.

James was brought of his thoughts by someone running into him. He heard the person yelp and immediately knew it was a girl - or very high pitched guy - and was about to say something when he, too, fell off balance trying to straighten himself. He fell backwards onto his butt, which really hurt more than he thought it would. Jamie looked up at the girl. She had pretty brown hair and matching brown eyes. He smiled over to her awkwardly, totally forgetting he was the 'bad boy' of Slytherin.

As soon as she was dismissed from defense of dark arts class she ran through the long confusing halls. Climbing stairs and taking sharp turns. Finally reaching Ravenclaw common room and setting down her books and grabbing her wand and leaving her robe. Leaving her dorm she bolted down spirling stairs until she reached the first floor. Racing to the courtyard her heart pumping running into the field, finally freedom. Smiling she began skipping towards Hagrid's hut.

Still blushing profusely, Lilac straightened herself and looked at the guy she'd run into. She didn't really know him, but she instantly recognized him -- he was her friend Maddie's older brother. He was also one of the sketchier guys at Hogwarts; Lilac tried not to follow stereotypes, but everyone seemed to think this guy was ominous and creepy. Feeling somewhat weary, she extended one hand to help him to his feet. Creepy or not, he was certainly handsome...but Lilac instantly brushed off the thought. She'd just pratically ran this guy over; this wasn't the ideal time to be judging his attractiveness.

"I'm sorry," Lilac stammered, trying to find the right words. She usually wasn't so tongue tied, but talking wasn't easy in the terse silence that stretched between them. "I was...I was sorta running...and, er..."

James took the offered hand to pull himself up. Once he was standing, he let got of the girl's hand to brush off dust and grass off of his backside. He looked back up at the girl to say something but he stopped short. It was Maddie's one friend...what was her name? Lily....Olive? No,....Lilac! That's what it was! She is rather cute though...I wonder if sh-NO! Bad James! He scolded himself. And that's when he started feeling the awkwardness in the air. It was rather weird running into your sister's best friend when the two of you have never said a word to each other.

He shook his head slightly and gave Lilac one of his smiles, "I's alright, I understand. Anyone would what to run out of there as quick as they could."

Lilac's weary misgivings evaporated at the guy's kind tone. She'd expected him to be angry at her for knocking him over -- the assumption was based on those dumb stereotypes, of course. Brushing the dirt and grass off her clothes, Lilac was glad he'd broken the tense silence, and she wasn't exactly eager to let their conversation die back into those depths. "You're Maddie's brother, right?" She asked, looking back at the guy in curiosity. It occurred to Lilac that he might know her just as she knew him because of her friend.

James nodded, "Yeah, I'm James. And you must be Lilac. Maddie's little Gryffindor friend," he smirked softly. The girl may be his sister's friend, but she was still a Gryffindor, and he couldn't be seen making it friendly with one of them. It was all to do with how his House worked and how they treated each other. Other Houses guesses on what they do aren't always that far off with scared him. Did he really seem like that type of person? Yeah, he put on a show mainly because it just seemed expected of him and of his condition didn't help him to fit in. Cause really. A werewolf in a room full of purebloods who probably have connections to werewolf slayers.

He visibly shook for a few moments and his eyes flickered amber before he focused his attention back on Lilac.
