This is the topic for Redpaw to train with Rockybolt. If anyone would like to (even wolves in other Clans), feel free to enter!

Rockybolt trotted into the sandy hollow, sitting down as he glanced around. He was happy to be a mentor; he hoped he could teach Redpaw what he knew. Seeing a bird flutter in the trees, the golden retriever glanced up, though stayed where he was; he could chase after the bird later. Standing up on his paws, Rockybolt let out his best attempt at a howl so Redpaw could hear that they would begin training. He thought about all of the different tactics he would need to be able to teach; hunting, fighting, scouting for predators, fishing, finding prey, and even more, and he hoped he would be able to be a good mentor.

Redpaw heard Rockybolts howl from her spot in the forest, she let out a bark-howl and began trotting toward where she had heard his signal. The brilliant red setters pelt shone in the dappled sunlight that filtered through the trees. Redpaw smiled happily, she was glad that she had been able to be trained by the only dog warrior in the clan. The pretty red setter would have gotten anxious if it was a wolf training her. Mostly because she would think that she wasnt up to scratch. She entered the sandy hollow and slid down to meet rockybolt "im here!"

Rockybolt glanced up as he noticed Redpaw, and he nodded to the Irish setter. "Hi Redpaw, welcome to your training. Is there anything you'd like to learn first?" Rockybolt asked, glancing around the hollow to see if he could see any prey in case Redpaw wanted to hunt first. There was the nearby river if she wanted to try fishing, and he thought of battle moves to work on if she wanted to learn fighting technique as well.

She rolled her shoulders in a shrug and said brightly "Whatever you wish to start with is fine with me!" she let her characteristic sweet smile form on her features. The red dog wagged her long furred tail in excitement. There was so much that she could learn and she looked forward to it.

Rockybolt nodded, thinking of something they could work on first. "Hmm... would you like to try hunting, to start out then? The sandy hollow usually has nearby prey; see what you can find. I'll help you out by telling you of hunting techniques after you find what prey there is nearby first." The golden-furred dog said with a smile.

Redpaw nodded and perked her ears with a shy smile "yes lets go!" she grinned with excitement and pranced a little. She shook out her thick red fur and stretched a little. She looked around and scented the air trying to smell the air

Rockybolt nodded at Redpaw's response, scenting at the air to try and see what types of prey there were nearby. The golden retriever looked back to Redpaw, seeing that she was also trying to search for prey. "Have you found any prey yet?" Rockybolt asked, waiting for her reply.

The pretty setter sneezed as dust tickled her nose and shook her head with a slight frown "no i havent" she couldn't smell anything apart from this sort of blood soaked mountainy smell. She frowned and perked her ears, that didn't smell what she thought that prey would smell like so with a perplexed look on her face she crept forward her long fur brushing the dusty earth a little. A large cat face appeared out of the bushes giving the poor apprentice a great fright, she leapt backward a shocked expression on her face before she recovered and leapt forward barking

Rockybolt nodded as Redpaw mentioned not finding any prey, and was about to respond when a type of feline appeared from some bushes, startling Redpaw before she began to bark at it. What is that... is it a... mountain lion? Rockybolt hadn't ever seen one, though had heard of them mentioned before. When he was young and belonged to Twolegs, he remembered them not liking mountain lions for some reason. "Redpaw, careful! That cat can be dangerous, be prepared in case it attacks." The golden retriever said, running over to where Redpaw was, growling as best as he could as he waited to see if the mountain lion would attack. He hadn't taught Redpaw any fighting moves yet, though he hoped she'd be able to quickly learn some if the mountain lion did attack them.

The large cat drew back its lips to reveal needle like fangs, redpaw growled feelin relief as her mentor came to back her up, she dropped back so she was shoulder to shoulder with Rockybolt and narrowed her eyes. The cat crouched and swung a paw at Redpaw, redpaw in true setter fashion showed not the sense to run away and instead attacked the paw, her mouth fastened onto the side of the paw and she bit down growling remembering the time she had had to protect a human from a rabid dog.

Rockybolt watched as the mountain lion had bared its teeth, growling as it swiped out at Redpaw, who'd bitten its paw. "Always be prepared in case the cat strikes back in defense." The golden quickly said, in trying to give a short battle lesson before he lunged for the mountain lion's scruff, biting down. He hadn't really been in a battle before, though he did have practice, and he would try his best for both ThunderClan and his apprentice to be safe.

Redpaw released the cougar and ducked back falling onto her belly to make its next swipe miss. She watched as her mentor leapt for the cats scruff and growled up at the cougar. She got up and barked loudly trying to keep its attention on her so her mentor could get a good grip. She danced forward and nipped the cats shoulder falling over as the cat gave her a clout to the head.

Rockybolt heard Redpaw barking, distracting the mountain lion. Rockybolt held on to the feline's scruff, biting down harder as he striked out at the mountain lion with his paws. The golden retriever fell back as the feline had also striked out, realizing it had attacked Redpaw. "Redpaw, are you okay?" Rockybolt asked his apprentice, before glaring back at the mountain lion. He tried to listen for Redpaw's response, biting the feline's scruff once more so it couldn't further injure Redpaw.
